Office of Compliance & Monitoring

SERVICES PROVIDED:

The Office of Compliance and Monitoring:

  • Represents CCSD in administrative hearings and appeals governing the provision of special education services, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, mediations and state complaints
  • Works collaboratively with the Legal Department on legal issues concerning special education and disability rights
  • Provides legal advice and consultation in the area of disability law to Trustees, central office executives, area superintendents, school-based administrators, staff and various departments system-wide
  • Protects the rights of students with disabilities and their parents under applicable state and federal laws, regulations, District policies and procedures
  • Develops policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols for staff to utilize in their implementation of disability laws
  • Creates, monitors, and enforces corrective action plans
  • Ensures that the CCSD complies with state and federal laws and regulation, and District policies and regulations
  • Special education and related services
